Lena McCarthy

Lena “MAC” McCarthy is a painter, international muralist and street artist. After attending the College of Fine Arts at Boston University, she took her work to the street while living in Santiago, Chile and has continued to paint across the globe ever since.

Both in the street and studio, Lena’s work imagines energetic spaces and interior realms of the human experience. Through flowing strokes and abstraction, she explores fantastical spaces, interwoven with metaphor inspired by the natural world and feminine power. Themes of duality, transformation, and resilience recur frequently, painted in sensitively selected color.

Lena approaches mural making as gift giving to the public space, using bare walls as a platform for messages of hope, and to connect communities. Her murals span across Latin America, Asia, Europe and the United States.

Souls

Dionelo Alvarez aka Souls Nyc was born and raised in the South Bronx. Growing up a few blocks away from the infamous Bronx Zoo, he has always looked at the city as an inspiration board.

"From an early age I felt creativity was my preferred language in a loud and lively Dominican household.

Art has always been my escape and chosen language.

Sketching on the train, working on canvases, designing my next mural, art is in me. I don't think about creating, it bursts out of me."

Currently studying Fine arts at Laguardia College, Souls Nyc also mentors youth and directs art related workshops. Dedicated to his chosen style, Aerosol Art, this Bronx artist integrates it's methods and history in his lesson plans for the youth
